Class Options (2011 - 2012)
 
We have classes for three different age groups including two year-olds, three year-olds, and four year-olds.  We follow the age guidelines of the Wake County Public School System.  Children must be two by August 31 of the school year in order to enroll in our two year old class.  The same age requirements are in place for our three and four year-old students.  Exceptions can be made at the discretion of the Preschool Director.
 
We have the following class options available.
Classes meet 9:15 am - 12:15 pm daily.  New for 2011- 2012 - There is a lunch option available for our four-year-old classes.  Hours for this class option are 9:15 am - 1:00 pm daily.

Please note that we do have some students who choose to enroll five days per week as two and three year-olds.  We have a limited number of these seats available.  Please notify the Preschool Director if you are interested in one of these slots.

  Activities for our twos are designed to foster the development of the four major skill areas: fine motor, gross motor, language, and self help.  Our classes emphasize learning by doing, encourage positive feelings about self, help children explore ways of dealing with conflict, and focus on individual children's strengths.

Our emphasis is on the development of language and communication, social and emotional skills, and fine and gross motor skills.  Class activities include sorting and counting, puzzles, use of drawing and writing materials, manipulatives, books, scissors, paint, and playdough, and opportunities to practice functional skills.

Class emphasis is on social and developmental skills and preparing the four year-old for his/ her upcoming kindergarten experience the next year.  Different centers (housekeeping, blocks, math and science, writing, manipulatives, sand table, books, art) encourage sharing and social skills as well as academics and developmental skills.
